Abstract: The National Policy on Education envisages integration of productive work with education and states that, ‘Work Experience, viewed as purposive and meaningful manual work, organized as an integral part of the learning process and resulting in either goods or services useful to the community, is considered as an essential component at all stages of education, to be provided through well-structured and graded programmes. It would comprise activities in accord with the interests, abilities and needs of students, the level of skills and knowledge to be upgraded with the stages of education. This experience would be helpful on his entry into the workforce.” The Department of Vocationalization of Education has already developed a set of twenty exempla instructional materials in the first instance which cover major areas of Work Experience in school education. The present title was developed in a workshop organized by the Department of Vocationalization of Education The manuscript was brought into the final form for publication by Shri G. Guru, the Project Coordinator of this title. I wish to place on record my grateful appreciation for the work done by all concerned in respect of this publication. It is expected that the students and teachers as well as the curriculum developers who use this publication may find it useful. The Department will be happy to receive their comments for further improvement of the material.
