| Abstract: | Physics is the most fundamental of the sciences. It deals with the study of the fundamental properties of matter on all scale (from universe to Nano particles) from the sub nuclear to the cosmic and the nature of space time. It also under pins the whole of modem technology, such as lasers in CD/DVD players, the silicon chip in computers, and the optic fiber cables use in light wave communications and the transmitters in mobile phones. Curiosity driven research in physics has invariably led, in the long term, to wealth creating technology, for example, curiosity about why hot objects emit radiation in the 19 century led to the semiconductor industry in the late 20th century. |
