Bridging the Gap Between Procedural and Conceptual Knowledge of the Children and Curriculum Expectations

Abstract

It is generally observed that the children find it difficult to understand, explain and apply the concepts learnt in different disciplines such as mathematics, language, science and social sciences. This results into poor achievement particularly in academic areas, despite the schooling over number of years. This is a matter of serious concern to teachers, teacher educators and educationists.
