Abstract: Structurally diverse benzothiazolylquinoline-2,5-diones and their spiro analogues have been synthesized by an environmentally benign efficient and convenient synthetic method involving sulfamic acid catalyzed one-pot four-component reaction of Meldrum acid, 2-aminobenzothiazoles, dimedone, and isatin/ carbonyl compound.
