In-service Course in Biology for PGT's of KVS

Abstract

In a large extent, the quality of school education depends on quality of teachers. No doubt it is the quality of teachers which creates excellence in all walks of life. Teacher education is considered as an integral part of educational system and improvement in the quality of education of the teacher is one of the major objective. According to NCTE 1993, the teacher education means, programme of education, research or training of persons for equiping them to teach at pre primary, primary, secondary, senior secondary stage in schools and non formal education, adult education and correspondence education through distance mode. Education as a system can be called as the brain any society. At any given time, education aims at progressive development of society and the social structure in turn, determines the aims and objectives of education. The important requirement today in school education is to respect our education system, sharpen its tools and make it more dynamic and meaningful. The first step in this direction would be to reframe the aims and objectives with clear perception of the scope of education at all levels.
